Comite European de Normalisation (CEN) is the EC body that issues directives to ensure all products manufactured within the EEC are made to the same standard, with the aim to remove trade barriers and generate free trade.

All garage doors sold must now conform with the EC Construction Products Directive (89 / 106 / EC) and this requires that they be built to and comply with BSEN 13241-1 Product Standard for Garage Doors.

Certain safety and performance critical elements have to be third party tested by an independent UKAS approved test house. Once tested and approved, the mark can be affixed to the product to indicate that it has been manufactured to the required standard and it must be supplied with a Declaration of Conformity.

All Cardale Group garage door products have been built and tested to this standard, carry the CE mark and are supplied with the Declaration.
